Family Flow Yoga

Sunday 14th October • 9am – 10am

The Sands Torquay

1 Great Ocean Road, Torquay.

A morning of mindfulness, connecting with community and having lots of fun.  Moving and breathing into our bodies and connecting to community are important tools for our ongoing mental health and wellbeing.

This session is about just that. It’s not about what you can and can’t do. It’s about showing up and being present to the body. You will be guided into the body so that you can be present to whatever wants to be there without being attached to it. We’ll practice moving energy through the body using breath and intention and having some fun in the process.
Yoga is a wonderful tool for relaxation, de-stressing, and calming the body and mind. We will teach you a few techniques you can practice by yourself anytime you need to stop and slow down your life a little because let’s face it all our lives can be a bit crazy busy. Everyone needs to press the reset button now and again.

BYO a yoga mat if you have one, otherwise we will have some spare. And bring a cushion if you need one for sitting on the ground.

Debbie Walker from Seaire Yoga and Kay Wilson from Spirit Earth Yoga and Massage feel very blessed to be able to share this day with you and your family.

What is Art of the Minds?

Art of the Minds aims to activate, educate and engage Surf Coast and the wider community about creatively managing mental health and wellbeing. Our message is in both the prevention of mental illness, supporting those in the early stages of developing a mental illness, and for those who maybe worsening with a mental illness, that there is hope in recovery.

Celebrating Creative Community Conversations & Connections in recovery is our focus.

Our mission will be achieved through a week of interactive events across the Surf Coast Shire, where Art of the Minds will continue to focus on creative conversations through a festival of mental wellbeing.

The festival events will be open to all ages of community, in providing creative educational conversations around mental wellbeing, both from a prevention focus and a management focus of mental illness.

Education events will include, an official shire launch, art exhibitions, musical performances, lived experience theatre shows, family fun yoga and meditation sessions, mindful walks, a community ball with an education twist, a range of sporting events highlighting the relationship to mental wellbeing, and an education seminar supported by professional education and mental health services.
