Based on an underpinning philosophy of traditional Chinese medicine the 3 treasures unique to us all are the Body, Breath, Spirit. It is through these three treasures that we experience life and our world in profound, unique, and beautiful ways.

With our body we are gifted harmony and health through movement and physical connection, with our breath we attune to the life force that flows through us, and our spirit embodies our own unique blend of intellect, emotions, passions, and creativity. This one day workshop will enable us to interweave the physical and the non-material parts of ourselves in a cacophony of movement, stillness, breathwork, chanting, sound, and connection. All essential elements for health in mind and body.

Bancoora-In is a truly tranquil environment with gardens to wander in and a picturesque lake where one may sit and reflect. A day packed with music, Qi Gong (gentle Tai Chi), movement to breath, yoga, guided meditation, yin yoga, chanting and/or Nada yoga, and ending with a delightful bath of healing. Lunch and morning and afternoon tea will be provided. Will you join us?

Additional information:
- Wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat and blanket and any other props you would like to use.
- Vegetarian food provided. Other dietary requirements to be communicated prior to the retreat.
- You can choose from two event days: Saturday and Sunday. Both will run to the same schedule other than one afternoon session. Chatananda will be present on the Saturday and Emma Flick on the Sunday.

ABOUT YOUR EVENT FACILITATORS

Debbie Walker (Seaire Yoga)
Debbie has been a guide in Hatha yoga, Viniyoga, Yin, Restorative, Meditation and Somatics for nine years for groups and individuals. Aside from the physical benefits, one of the greatest benefits of this practice is how it helps a person manage stress, tension, and anxiety which are known to have devastating effects on the body and mind. This stress can have many adverse effects such as aches, pains, limitations, and inability to sleep, just to name a few. It can be very effective in developing coping skills, enabling problems to appear smaller, and assisting the person to reach a more positive outlook on life. It also improves focus, concentration and memory. This particular class will give you practical tools that can benefit you in your daily life.

Tony Cook
Tony has been a student of Taichi/Qigong since the 1980's. Over the last five years he has conducted Qigong classes in the Surfcoast and Geelong area. His Qigong teaching has been deeply inspired by Dr. Roger Jahnke, Master Tevia Feng, and many other teachers. Tony's aim is to expose students to the deep relaxation and healing states that can be achieved through Qigong practice, that unifies the Three Treasures of Body, Breath, and Spirit. Expect gentle, flowing movement, and a calm, relaxed mind.

Kay Wilson (Spirit Earth Yoga & Massage)
Kay invites you to connect deeply with your body through the ancient teachings of yoga. Kay is a teacher and student of Hatha yoga and draws on this ancient wisdom for you to deeply access consciousness to heal body, mind and spirit. Kay’s profound presence takes you into a meditative state to allow healing to flow with gentle rhythm.

Sherrill Harvey (Restore Yoga & Meditation)
Sherrill Harvey of Restore Yoga & Meditation is delighted to be facilitating Yin Yoga classes during the Wellbeing Retreat. Sherrill will guide you in this slow and gentle style of yoga that creates space for you to explore the mind-body connection using breath as your guide. Poses are held for longer periods of time allowing you to open, lengthen and release the connective tissues of the body to improve flexibility. This peaceful and calming practice will leave you feeling relaxed and uplifted.

Deborah Landsman
Originating from South African lineage of healers, Deborah has evolved from working as a Remedial therapist for elite athletes with vast knowledge of 20 years of hands on experience, offering you integrated therapy using sound, colour and movement as well as her signature bodywork.

Deborah has studied with Peter Hess Academy, Sound Healing Bali with Shervin Boloorian and Fabian Maman’s Tama- Do Academy of Sound, Specialising in Sound Harmonisation, Sound Massage, Tuning forks, Colour therapy and movement.

Deborah offers one on one treatment using acoustic sounds and vibrations from elements of nature, combined with colour therapy and natural essences, bringing balance and harmony into your physical, astral and mental body.

She also facilitates Group Sound Medicine Meditations with Multi-Instrumental live acoustic sound, to help you find ways to balance your auric field, preparing you to connect back to the divine light of your soul.

Chatananda - Saturday only
Chantananda is a four-person Kirtan chanting group that is devoted to heart centred community coming together in sacred sound singing prayers of peace for all living beings on our earth. “When we chant we experience the bliss of the self and really, that’s what each of us long for." They offer monthly Kirtan in Torquay and are often invited to yoga studios in Geelong and on the coast.

Emma Flick (Desa Seni) - Sunday only
Emma discovered yoga/meditation in her mid-teens, and has spent 29 years exploring various styles. She began teaching in 2016 and in 2019 created Deśa Retreat, providing accommodation, organic plant-based meals and private yoga to the local surfcoast community and in-house guests. Emma has studied hospitality management (BMIHMS), applied science-physical education (VUT) and applied social science-coaching (ACAP), and has 1500 + hours of yoga teacher training including Hatha-vinyasa, TCTSY, Kundalini and Nada (sound based) yoga. Emma weaves together both scientific and spiritual understanding to guide others towards a kind and self-supportive relationship with their body and mind. She supported Geelong Football Club, teaching yoga for the “Just Think” drug and alcohol prevention program, visiting schools and Geelong Stadium and guiding over 500 teens towards their internal resources for emotional regulation. Emma runs mindfulness and yoga classes for children, teens and adults and also works individually with teens and adults who are managing stress related conditions such as ptsd, anxiety and depression.

Emma is a warm and genuine yoga teacher focused on empowering others through sharing the ancient yogic teachings and philosophies that have supported her in her wellbeing and her quest to live a meaningful life.
