We are proud to present a very special World Mental Health Day event on the Surf Coast with a specific focus on men’s mental health. Join us as we hear the very real and raw stories of two brave men from the AFL and NRL, sharing their vulnerabilities and how they found strengths in their recovery.

Life can taken sudden turns we didn't foresee and yet even when things seem tough, there are people and services around us to help look after ourselves and other. This event aims to provide reliable, expert information and insight into lived experiences to help men live happier and healthier lives. You will also learn about where to reach for help and learn more about how we can support men’s mental health

Hosted by Wes Cusworth, join us to hear from an amazing line up of speakers including:
Wayne Wigham - Ex NRL Player & Speaker for the Black Dog Institute in Sydney.
Majak Daw - Ex AFL player for the Melbourne Football Club
Kristy Steenhuis - Standby Support After Suicide national service
Rob Lytzki - Founder of Foundation 61 who run an 18-bed facility for men with life controlling issues
Jules Haddock - President of Art of The Minds & genU Training Mental Health Educator

genU Traiining (RTO 5553) will also be there to provide information on how you can support our community through Mental Health First Aid education.

Finally, we are thrilled to have The Express Empire, winner of the 2021 Surf Coast Song Contest, coming along! Seamlessly interweaving melody and melodrama, they draw out emotions in their listeners with their stories about the preciousness of life, the importance of hope, and having the conviction to carry on.

Cost: $50 per person; includes plated breakfast and coffee/tea
